Corrugated cardboard is a made from paper glued together with corn starch. If dumped into a heap it will break down in to compost in about three to four months. Sawdust by comparison takes about two years to compost.
In parts of the US and the UK waste from stables using corrugated cardboard is highly sought after as feedstock for worm farms.
