Sassy's on the road to recovery
Our young pony developed arthritis in a hind pastern, which caused her a lot of pain and made her unsound. The remedy for this condition is to fuse the pastern surgically. While the success rate of this procedure is quite high, the recovery period is long and difficult. Sassy has to be boxed for a minimum of 3 months. She was in a cast for the first six weeks, and is now splinted and bandaged. It is imperative that she stand on a clean, dry, cushioned bed. We have used Airlyte since the day Sassy came home from hospital and are very pleased with it. Sassy has had no complications (no swollen legs, no hoof problems). The bedding absorbs moisture, and the clumps of soiled bedding are easy to detect and remove.
We have been re-bagging the soiled Airlyte, which (mixed with manure) is being used by local gardeners as mulch. The recycling goes on!
The lovely women from Wellington Feed and Saddlery tell me that you are great to do business with, so that's another feather in your cap!
All the best,
Abby Letteri
